Whether you stand on two legs or four, there’s no better way to enjoy your time in Greater Palm Springs than by going outside to soak up the sunshine and picturesque vistas. When your dog is ready for a romp, head to one of many dog parks where you can enjoy the outdoors together, whether you’re in Palm Springs, Indio, or somewhere in-between.

Freedom Park

A popular hotspot for dogs and pet parents alike, Freedom Park in Palm Desert offers an outdoor oasis for your pup to enjoy. Two enclosed areas let pets play off-leash with other small or large dogs, and there’s plenty of grass for Fido to enjoy. Other pet owners often leave behind toys like tennis balls and Frisbees, so there’s little need to bring your own toys. Water fountains are also onsite to keep your pup hydrated. A paved walking path lets you and your pup explore the park on-leash after playtime in the dog park.

University Dog Park

As one of the larger dog parks in Greater Palm Springs, University Village Park in Palm Desert is perfect for pets and owners looking to meet other dog-lovers during their stay. Dogs can frolic through the small- or large-dog sections of this 2.5-acre dog park, complete with grass, water fountains and doggy bags. Benches, both covered and uncovered, let you relax with fellow owners while Fritz enjoys a playful afternoon. Though parking spaces are limited, there is ample street parking available.

Civic Center Dog Park

The Palm Desert Civic Center is one of the most popular parks in Greater Palm Springs, not to mention the largest in Palm Desert. The dog park includes two off-leash areas for small and large dogs, where dog moms and dads can hang out on the benches while pups chase after balls, roll around on the grass and make new furry friends. Afterwards, put the leash back on to explore everything else this 72-acre park has to offer.

Mulligan Dog Park

Need to make a pit stop for your pup? It’s hard to beat the location of Mulligan Dog Park, located right off the I-10 freeway in Indio. This sprawling park is perfect for dogs who love to run or play fetch, as the large park areas offer ample room for pups to run, chase and play across beautifully manicured grass. Benches offer a shady respite for owners, while necessities like water fountains and doggy bags make this a practical stop, too.

Palm Springs Dog Park

Your pup will fall in love with Greater Palm Springs at the Palm Springs Dog Park, a 1.6-acre oasis for four-legged friends to enjoy. Let your dog off his leash to explore the small or large dog area, both of which are enclosed for safety. Fountains keep Baxter hydrated while he’s running across the large park, and fire hydrants are a cheeky touch to make your pup feel at home. Night owls especially enjoy Palm Springs Dog Park, as it’s open 24 hours a day.
